Well howdy, folks, it's been a while yet again. Figured I'd post on here while I searched for a good Magnus/Alec trope to write while I've got some downtime. I've graduated university (am now a qualified social worker! Yeah!) and I'm about two weeks away from heading to Europe to see my dad and take in the sights.

I recently had a bit of a funny situation with fandom. It wasn't anything bad - quite the opposite, really - but it really made me think about how far I've come since first joining fandom back in 2002. It's interesting seeing how fanfic has changed from then until now, and even within the same fandoms. Take the BBC Sherlock fandom for instance. I remember when it first came out and how exciting it was. There were the classic fanfics in the fandom (MadLori, anyone?), and it's good to see how well these stand up some seven years later. The interesting part is how much I've changed since first reading these fics, and the fact that they're still relevant - and my participation in fandom is still relevant. It just gave me food for thought and I thought I'd write it somewhere that wasn't tumblr.

Anyway, off to find that trope. If anyone has any interesting tropes that they'd like to read, please let me know.

That feel when you haven't been on your dreamwidth account in nearly two years. Yikes. Relatable, probably.

Anyway, here I am, about to graduate university, still with no idea as to what I actually want to do with my life. I'm a bit excited that I'll have most of November free this year, though, and can actually participate in NaNoWriMo again. I have no idea what I'm going to write, but it'll either be something Marauders themed (again), or I reckon I'll have a crack at a Shadowhunters fic.

I've been drawing a lot more recently which has been pretty cool! Work has asked me to put together a mural for one of the walls downstairs, so hopefully that'll go well and it'll look good. Haven't been writing as much as I used to, but ah well.

Anyway, just wanted to write something so I can say that I still update this thing. I'm on tumblr more often now so if you're looking for me, that's where I'll be.

I never thought I'd get to a place where tumblr would become toxic, but after five years on that dang website, it was bound to happen.

But, apart from that.

There's a lot of pressure coming from many different places and tbh I don't really know what to do with it. There's university (which, if I'm being honest, I don't even know if I want to be there), there's twitter (somehow), there's people requesting things and family obligations and assignments and I'm kind of losing it.

I wish I could play sims professionally. Or something.

Maybe I'll get back into writing.

I'm so glad that sites like dreamwidth and livejournal are still hanging around. As great as tumblr is - and trust me, I still do spend most of my time there - sometimes it's just nice to blog somewhere where you're still vaguely anonymous.

Anyway, that's not what I wanted to write about.

What I wanted to write about was writing. Or, more specifically, the fact that I actually feel like writing something for the first time in what basically feels like forever. Only problem is, I have literally no idea what to write or which pairing to write it about. Part of me feels like writing Ethan/Victor Penny Dreadful type stuff but I don't feel like I'm deep enough into either of their heads yet in order to do any kind of story justice. That, and I was snooping around the Penny Dreadful kink meme and I couldn't find anything that particularly caught my eye.

I suppose I'm just feeling rather lost now that I don't have Sims 3 with me anymore. It glitched the other day and all my reinstallation discs are back home, 2 states away. There goes years of simming and many accompanying generations of sims, ha ha ha. /cries
